A new level of comfort for the Centovalli railway

Stadler is presenting a tailor-made solution with its new electric low-floor train for the Centovalli railway. The multiple units also feature a new, modern design that will serve as the face of the railway, which is well-known throughout Switzerland, and increase passenger comfort.

Just in time for its 100th anniversary, Stadler is presenting one of a total of eight metre-gauge multiple units that will be delivered in three- and four-part versions to Ferrovie Autolinee Regionali Ticinesi (FART), the Swiss operator of the narrow-gauge railway.

The multiple units come in versions that are 63.4, 48.9, or 34.5 metres long and can transport 338 passengers (128 seats, 210 standing passengers) in the long version, 258 passengers (95/168) in the three-part version and 174 passengers (49/125) in the two-part version. The new multiple units are fitted with low-floor entrances, air suspension, air conditioning and a passenger information system, and are also equipped with wheelchair spaces and disabled toilets for people with reduced mobility.
