General update on the development of the Service Division
Stadler’s service site network is constantly expanding so that we can keep offering our customers better and more long-term support. We have taken great strides in recent years, with a clear focus on innovation and sustainability.
Our newest sites include the state-of-the-art plant in Newcastle, which was specially constructed for the maintenance and service of the new Tyne and Wear Metro fleet, and the innovative plant in Rendsburg, which specialises in the maintenance and support of battery-powered trains. These new facilities highlight our dedication to continuously improving the efficiency and reliability of our services.
With these new sites, we are driving forward our vision to not only be technological pioneers, but also to set up a sustainable and efficient service infrastructure which meets the constantly evolving needs of our customers.
Rendsburg
Stadler’s new maintenance plant in Rendsburg is specially equipped for the maintenance and repair of the new FLIRT Akku battery-powered electric regional multiple units. After the 19-month construction period, the state-of-the-art plant in the heart of Schleswig-Holstein opened its doors and is now offering a comprehensive infrastructure for the maintenance, charging and storage of the batteries. The facility consists of a vehicle hall with four work stations including rail pits and roof access, as well as an external cleaning system and diagnostic container for monitoring the batteries. The trains maintained here will ensure the operation of 10 million battery-powered electric train kilometres.
This investment strengthens the regional infrastructure, creates 30 new jobs, and improves the conditions for long-term and stable operation of the battery-operated trains.

Service products FS & TSSSA: Our Full Service and TSSSA offerings (Technical Support and Spare Supply Agreement) ensure comprehensive and long-term vehicle availability. Full Service includes the full package from preventive and corrective maintenance to overhauls, while TSSSA provides a wide range of on-site technical services and spare parts. Both ensure maximum availability and optimum maintenance of the customer fleet.
Service products overhaul, modernisation, repair: Our modernisation, overhaul and repair services ensure that the vehicles retain their value throughout their lifespan or improve their performance. Modernisation involves equipping the vehicle with new technology, overhauls increase the vehicle safety and conformity, and fast repairs ensure that the vehicles can be put back into operation quickly and safely following incidents or accidents of any kind.
Digital solutions: With our digital solutions, we provide an overview of current and future technologies such as condition-based maintenance (CBM), extended RDS functions (data processing and visualisation during remote monitoring) and cybersecurity solutions. These innovative approaches aim to increase the efficiency and safety of the customer fleets, enable preventive maintenance, and ensure digital protection.
